About the Item
A charming and most decorative pair of Italian early 18th century Louis XVI Period Walnut, Fruitwood, Charmwood and marble commodes/side tables. Each most decorative chest is raised on square tapered Walnut legs and Ormolu sabots with a foliate motif. Above is the arbalest shaped apron below the two rectangular drawers, each intricately detailed with inlaid Fruitwood and Charmwood diamond reserves at the Ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The tops are hand carved from Occio di Pavone Rosso marble with a coved ogee edge. All original hardware and marble tops.
