Pair of Neoclassical Style Side Tables, 19th Century French
About the Item
A pair of Louis XVI style side tables that exemplify the key characteristics of the neoclassical period from top to bottom. Fine wood inlays are featured on the table tops and frieze in geometric patterns. Ornate doré bronze mounts decorate the frieze with depictions of ribbons and florals and the corner mounts with columns in the greco-roman style with laurel wreaths and acanthus leaves. Straight legs with fine wood inlays that taper are decorated at the bottoms with bronze fittings.
