Prag Rudniker - Fin De Siècle - Sewing Table

About

This is a very special and rare piece: This sewing table is from turn of the century. Prag Rudniker was a famous wicker manufacturer, originally from Vienna, Austria, Prag Czechoslovakia and Bukarest, Rumania. One of its students was the famous designer Josef Hoffmann. Prag Rudniker initiated a debate on new design and application possibilities for wicker furniture. It was the time when artists and architects began to deal with contemporary design. The basis of the conscious opposition of lightness and transparency of materials has been found and adopted worldwide. It's material is wood, leather cane/wicker and green velvet textile with gold embroidered elements. Original vintage condition.
