Sculptural Walnut Side Table by Martell Woodworks - Modern Style
About the Item
This is a sculptural side table, built by hand, out of solid walnut with a scupltural carved base and a kidney shaped top. The top has gentle curves and a pronounced roundover on the lower side. Beneath the top is another piece of walnut that has been sculpted and laminated on, offering a tiered look to the piece. The central upright was turned from solid walnut and has a gentle concave to the center, and the base is of a figured piece of walnut that shows some great character in the wood.
The piece was finished with multiple coats of hardwax oil, providing a soft satiny sheen.
