About the Item

Simple but Charming French Provincial Side table made of richly patinated pear wood with applewood legs. Great proportions and exceptional color. Finished on all sides. Made in Normandy circa 1800. A charming and understated French Provincial side table crafted in Normandy circa 1800. This authentic piece features a three-plank top and apron made from richly patinated pear wood, exhibiting warm, mellow tones and a beautifully worn surface with visible tool marks and centuries of character. The tapering square legs are carved from apple wood, lending a subtle contrast and a slightly reddish hue beneath the natural finish. Finished on all sides, the table is well-proportioned and versatile- ideal as a side table, writing table, or console in both rustic and refined interiors. The clean silhouette, shaped apron corners, and pegged joinery reflect the simplicity and practicality of rural French craftsmanship at the turn of the 19th century.
