This beautiful painting by artist Gregory Hawthorn was from a art collectors Palm Springs estate. Mr. Hawthorne’s work was chosen for many interiors designed by the late, great Steve Chase. Realizing his talents earlier than most, Chase began shaping his career and his distinctive style at age seventeen when he joined the design firm of La Tienda in Los Angeles. A 14-year affiliation with Arthur Elrod Associates followed, ending in 1980 with the founding of his namesake firm, Steve Chase Associates. With a staff of more than 20 based in Rancho Mirage, California, Chase’s projects extended beyond his signature residential work to include aircraft, yachts and homes in such far-off lands as Singapore and Germany. Yes… they are amazing. The provenance doesn't get any better than this: A all-original penthouse in Rancho Mirage designed by the late design icon, Steve Chase. We spent over $4000 on new, high end European linen blend fabric and reupholstering these the way they deserved to be. The taupe tanish/silver linen fabric has a high end almost metallic sheen to it. The left and right pair of sofas were designed and made by Directional in the 1980s. . They look very much in the style of Kagan or Springer.
