About the Item
A unique pair of studio craft tables in carved and shaped maple from 1977. With scrolled club feet and anthropomorphic top carvings, these echo many of the whimsical characteristics that were a signature feature of the 1970s art furniture movement led by Wendell Castle and date to the same year that Boston’s own Judy McKie began her artistic furniture making career. Both are signed by the maker J.P. Wilkins who created these while enrolled in the former Claude Patten Trade School in Beverly, MA. Due to their hand-made nature, there is a slight variation in size between the two tables. One is 22.5" in diameter, the other 23". One is 24.5" high, the other 24.75" high.
