About the Item
This wonderful example of a 19th century tortoise shell sewing box on stand opens to original fabric lined interior of compartments with a central basket seated on a pedestal above a serpentine base with original casters. Measures: 13.5 wide by 10.5 deep by 24.5 tall. Includes a handful of original sawing pieces. The tortoise has some old repairs, the fabric is original and showing its age.
