Unique 'The Saint' Stickman Occasional Table From the Film Set 1960s

About the Item

Unique 'The Saint' Stickman Occasional Table From the Film Set 1960s. This is a real gem and a unique opportunity to own something which was used at the film set of the famous television series 'The Saint' with Roger Moore as Simon Templar in the 1960s. This television series was based on the books by Leslie Charteris and the the 'stickman' logo which was also used for the books is as famous as the television series itself. This occasional table was used at the film set of one of the episodes which was shot on location. Most of the show was shot in the studio in England, but on a few occasions the crew went to glamorous filming locations like the French Riviera. At one of these trips this table was used as decoration at the set catering. It was bought by a nearby antiques dealer when the filming was done and we bought it from the person who got it from this French antique dealer. Supposedly there were once three of these tables and also there also was a large dining table with on every corner one of these metal figurines. What a great sight would that have been. Therefore, it could well be that Roger Moore did place his coffee on this very table during the filming breaks. The story behind this table is fascinating enough to make it an interesting object. But it can also be practically used as a table for holding some magazines, your coffee or even a bottle of wine. It is fairly stable and sturdy, so that would be no problem at all. It is in real untouched and original condition, with some rust and some faded paint. A great patina! A very fun and fascinating graphical piece with some serious television history attached.
