A Very Fine and Rare 19th Century Two Tier Wine or Occasional Table
About the Item
A very fine and rare 19th Century mahogany two tier wine or occasional table of circular form, exceptional quality and beautifully hand carved with rich patination and grain. The moulded, well figured top tier with gorgeous carved border detail is raised over reverse tapering, ring turned column support with gadroon and facet detail, the larger second tier below with the same carved border detail is raised above a ring turned baluster pod, supported on elegant trefoil base with cabriole leg terminating on scroll foot with stunning acanthus leaf, scroll and stipling motif detail on knee, labelled 'Howard and Sons'.
