This elegant, hand painted antique sewing table was created in England circa 1880. Standing on a rectangular base with scalloped edges over a thick carved central stem, the cabinet built of "Papier-Mache", has a black lacquered finish embellished with mother of pearl inlays, floral motifs and gilt decor. The vintage box with raised surface is dressed with a scalloped apron around; when opened from the top, it reveals inside luxurious green velvet upholstery, and would be ideal for storing craft and sewing tools, or other small accessories.
