Very beautiful, important and high quality side table designed by Robert Oerley, Vienna circa 1905 and executed by Anton Pospischil, Vienna.
Robert Oerley (1876-1945) Austrian architect
1912 he was the president of the Wiener Sezession and furthermore he had many memberships e.g.. Hagenbund, German Werkbund, Austrian Werkbund.
Very rare and high quality Jugendstil Side Table by Robert Oerley, circa 1905, which was designed for the apartment
Dr. Victor Ritter von Bauer, Vienna, circa 1905.
The side table consists of various woods as walnut, maple tree and spruce.
The corpus pillars on a socket. The side table was designed with typical square elements, which are inlaid with maple tree.
These inlays are left and right on both sides.
At the front side is a drawer with a square shaped fitting and a pull button, which was made of solid brass.
It is worth to mentioned, that the side table features two storage compartments.
At the top you see an ivory colored glass plate.
The side table is in original condition up to the glass plate, which was exchanged years ago.
Good original condition with minor signs of age and use.
