This is a vintage torchere stand. An oriental mahogany and marble jardinière or lamp table, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1980.
Deeply carved stand with appealing color
Displays a desirable aged patina
Select mahogany shows fine grain interest
Rich russet hues beneath the wax polish finish
The circular top inlaid with eye-catching Rojo Coralito marble
Some small marks beneath the polish under close inspection
Deeply tiered edge with foliate carved apron
Upstand presents a broad leaf carved fascia to each side
Rising on an ornate fluted central column with reverse gadrooned carvings
Tiered plinth with continuous petal motif over pattern carved base
This is an attractive vintage torchere stand. The fascinating marble inlay with copious veins and rich orange hues sits perfectly atop the heavily carved stand. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
