Antique French Console Sofa Table Louis XIV Carved Walnut Lyre Scroll c1880
About the Item
19th Century French console sofa table Louis XIV style carved walnut w Lyre Scrolls.
Direct from France, a highly carved 19th century sofa table, opulently carved on both the exterior and interior sides of the trestle legs.
Carvings of scrolls and foliate surround the carved mask center medallions, with floral rosettes and dimensional carved scroll feet. Again, this design is echoed FOUR times, on all sides!
Ornate, thick stretcher has twin arches to the center, enhancing this outstanding table silhouette. Wide apron has carved demilune design, with reverse carved beveled edge to the top.
Excellent for a foyer or center table, and equally stunning as a sofa or library table. Lovely, aged patina, well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1880.
Measurements: 31” height x 43.5” x 23”.
