About the Item
Impressive Art Deco sofa table/side table made of iron with a hammered surface and gray-rust-colored marble top.
The legs are exaggeratedly flared and then converge again, giving the heavy iron table a certain lightness despite the heavy materials.
The rust-brown-gray color of the waxed iron frame perfectly matches the gray-rust colored stone with white veins.
The marble top measures 46 x 54 cm and has a brushed surface.
Vittorio Ducrot (1867-1942).
Documented in DUCROT Mobili E Arti Decorative - Novecento.
Vittorio Ducrot was born in Palermo in 1867 to a French family.
He died in Rome in 1942. He studied architecture in Switzerland and
began his career together with architect Ernesto Basile and painter
Etthore DE Maria Bergler.
They designed, for example, the interior of the "Palazzo di Montecitorio, Rome" and also a luxurious Art Deco steamer, the "Principessa Mafalda."
