About the Item

Italian Coffee Table In Gilded And Lacquered Wood With Rectangular Scagliola Top Masterfully crafted on Lake Como with gilded friezes from the 1700s. From northern Italy comes this exclusive coffee table, a base decorated with antique and baroque elements, two vases with carved leaf handles, flanked by scrolls and acanthus leaves, ancient carved, gilded and applied decorations on an ivory lacquered wood panel. This antique low sofa table is rectangular in shape, is from the center, the decoration on the back side is mirrored to that on the front. The rectangular, stepped base with shaped corners and gilt frame on which this antique coffee table rests is large and stable, made in the last quarter of the twentieth century. The polychrome top boasts a combination of delicate colors such as yellow ochre, powder blue, coral pink, and three ivory mixed-line reserves centered by black oval patterns; rectangular in shape, with rounded corners and molded edge, this extraordinary scagliola top is handmade by a Comacina workshop around 1980, italian craftsmanship and the material imitating marble makes it splendid and unique. The elegant proportions and very warm tones make this rare coffee-table a period coffee table that can be set not only in classically styled furniture, but also in contemporary interiors. Coming from a private collection in Milan, it is in good condition apart from signs of wear in the wooden base only, minimal missing and discoloration, as documented in the photo gallery. THE PLAN DOES NOT DISASSEMBLE We ship from Italy. Under current Italian law, any work of art does require a government license for export called Belle Arti. 18th Century Italian Baroque Gilded Ewer Repoussé Copper Liturgical Pitcher
Located in Milano, MI
A stunning Italian gilt copper ewer dating back to 18th century with a circular body featuring a quadripartite decoration defined by the repoussé of a double vertical ribbed frame that frames tableaux decorated with floral scrolls; the background of these sections is finely dotted by chisel tool to underline a very pleasant relief to the embossed parts thanks to the burnishing. An excellent and unique hand-made pitcher, selected in a private collection of Northern Italy. This rare golden jug was created to serve wine during the Eucharistic celebration, the Christian liturgical practice. it is an Italian work of art that dates back to 1700, with a wonderful fire gilding, for collectors. In good age related condition regardless of a small dent in the middle part of the body, consistent with the eighteenth-century dating. The cast handle takes up the motif of the volutes present on the body of the ewer. The spout is closed by a hinged lid with a small floral knob, with minimal deformations near the hinge compromising its perfect closure. In the upper part, there are welding signs...
