About the Item

A French walnut and acacia wood sofa table with four drawers, turned legs and cross stretcher from the late 18th century. Born in the later years of King Louis XVI's reign, this French sofa table features a rectangular planked top sitting above an apron adorned with a single dovetailed drawer on all four sides. The table is raised on four turned legs whose shape are reminiscent of Doric columns with entasis, connected to one another with a plain cross stretcher and resting on onion feet. The linearity of the top is perfectly balanced by the curvy silhouette of the legs, making this French 1790s sofa table an excellent choice for any living room.
