About the Item
19th Century excellent quality Italian Empire rent or games table of mahogany having a beautifully grained top with beveled edge. The table’s frieze holds four working drawers separated by four faux drawers, all having brass knobs. Supporting the top, a fluted column is crowned with giltwood scrolling acanthus leaves and fitted with giltwood details at the base. An octagonal platform extends to four legs having exquisite winged paw feet that are carved, ebonized, and gilded. This is a great example of Italian Empire design. Would make a great entry hall or center table!
The table measures 32” in diameter and 27.75” tall. The table base measures 26.6” wide.
