19th Century Louis XV Salon Table Napoleon III Paris

About the Item

It is surrounded by very finely chiselled, pronounced, decorative, perforated rocaille, Akkanthus and blossoms fire-gilt bronze fittings. Bois-Satiné veneer, all-round surface-covering mirror veneer on solid conifers. On oblique, with two forward looking, imposing bearded devil masks on sinuous legs ending in sabot, all-round scalloped, incisive frame. Overlaid, often curved tabletop with a profiled decorated bronze lining and a gold-imprinted leather insert. (A-96).

    Very nice game table on high legs style Louis XV from the Napoleon 3 period of the 19th century. The wood is finely inlaid with floral and vegetal motifs.
