Diehl Black French Table Napoleon III Boulle Brass Gilt Bronze 19th Century

About the Item

Stunning Table by Diehl in Boulle Fiddle with rich Fishnet Marquetry style, Napoleon III Period, Sumptuous violin-shaped center table, Boulle mesh style marquetry, in brass on an ebony veneer background, composed of interlacing large brass stars framed with geometric patterns. Marquetry on all sides on the top and all on the belt. Opens into a mahogany interior drawer. Important and rare ornamentation of gilded bronzes with lion's head falls ending in intertwining, ingot mold around the edge, sabots, patterns on the drawer and the back. Bears several Diehl stamps. It is an impressive and rare model with its very rich marquetry top, with an important central motif framed by "fishnet" marquetry, which stands out from the classic tortoiseshell tables.
