Spanish Colonial baroque style refectory dinning table crafted in narra hardwood. Rectangular 4.5 cm thick one-piece table top with with moulded edge. The Philippines were a Spanish colony for over 300 years, so this is a wonderful example of European/Spanish style crafted from narra, a stunning hardwood with a beautiful dark patina and smooth, worn finish. These types of tables were typically done for monasteries and Spanish related families. A family of tables inspired by the Modern Movement, in particular the formal rigour of Mies van der Rohe and the free compositions of Gerrit T.
