George The 3rd Fine Mahogany Spider Table, Circa 1770
About the Item
A very fine and delicate George the 3rd mahogany spider table, of good size.
The thin mahogany top is one piece, it is untouched with a wonderful colour and patina, below the top is an attractively shaped frieze, around the circumference of the table. Raised on very pleasingly finely turned legs and united by an expertly turned (H rail) lower stretcher, for extra support. It is very unusual to have a table of these proportions and age with no breaks.
The quality, design and proportions make this an impressive example of the period.
