About

Metallic cast art hardwood side table Collaboration between Gregory Clark collection and artist Doug Maxwell. Base is Macassar Ebony with a polished glass insert top for exceptional viewing of the art piece insert encased within. The artistic insert is identified as paper light art; they are carefully handcrafted and are one of a kind. A combination of pure cotton fiber and metallic pottery shards is blended with water into pulp. This pulp is then cast on handmade forms. After drying, the cast paper shape is decorated with a raised design, and hand painted with various types of water based paints. Gold, copper or silver leaf is applied to most pieces. Pottery shards are also cast into some pieces providing texture and definition. Item shown is available as well as other variations.
