Magnificent and rare Art Deco Modernist sewing table.
Design by P.E.L. Izeren for de Genneper Molen.
Striking Dutch design from the 1920s.
Original oak veneered base with original macassar ebony veneer on the sides.
The top is original veneered with oak and macassar ebony veneer.
Two original drawers and in very good condition with a beautiful patina.
The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco sewing table by P.E.L. Izeren is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School.
The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925.
Well known Dutch architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
