About the Item
Butterfly table is conceived, designed and created by award-winning artist and architectural designer Michael Olshefski of Primal Modern. Inspired by Japanese tea ceremonies, Butterfly table can serve as a cocktail, coffee, tea ceremony or low profile dining table. This spectacular spalted California Hackberry table has a complex, soft, flowing, smoky grain pattern and intense figure. The book-matched Hackberry tops of this table are joined together with a leather spine symbolizing the body of a butterfly. The table is accented with laser cut, black finished steel legs with delicate cut-throughs to represent movement of the butterfly in flight.
This piece is custom-made to order and can be customized in dimension, material and finish. Every piece is individually handcrafted by artist Michael Olshefski and includes a signed certificate of authenticity.

His work is inspired by the ancient art and philosophy of Wabi-Sabi and minimalist modern art, architecture and design.
