French Game Table Napoleon III Period - Louis XV Style - 19th Century - France
Located in Beuzevillette, FR
Very nice game table on high legs style Louis XV from the Napoleon 3 period of the 19th century. The wood is finely inlaid with floral and vegetal motifs. The legs are curved, the tips of the legs are in metal, while metal decorations are present on the tops of the legs.
The table opens to the depth and rotates to the length. The game board, once opened, is held in place by a drawer that opens on the right side (also serving as storage for the games).
The table top measures 116cm (45.6 inch) x 58cm (22.8 inch)
Very fine and sophisticated work, this table will give elegance to any type of interior decoration.
The Louis XIV style is a furnishing style covering more or less the period of the reign of Louis XIV (1661 to 1715).
This style is characterized by the majesty and richness of its furnishings.
The Louis XIV style follows the Louis XIII style. The furniture is increasingly luxurious, but unlike previous styles, it is almost no longer inspired by architecture. There are two kinds of furniture: ceremonial furniture richly decorated with veneers and inlays (especially with André-Charles Boulle), solid giltwood and bourgeois furniture in solid wood.
The style is characterized above all by its absolute symmetry and an important and ostentatious Dimension. The Louis XIV style is of Italian and ancient inspiration.
The style emerged with the advent of the reign of Louis XIV in 1661 and lasted until the end of the 17th century. In 1690, on the death of Lebrun, decorator to the King, the style declined and was gradually replaced by the Regency style.
The Palace of Versailles is obviously extremely and lastingly marked by the Louis XIV style. His long reign made it possible to impose the unique style of the Grand...

Yakisugi Table Basse by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance
By Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance
Located in Geneve, CH
Yakisugi table basse by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance
Dimensions: Ø45 x H 50 cm
Materials: Solid Canaletto walnut and ash wood top, solid Canaletto walnut and ash outer structure, solid Canaletto walnut and ash. Inner structure
Biography:
Not wishing to simply produce or be rational about a product, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance prefers that each of his projects has its own unique scenario, nourished without distinction between uses, forms, materials or aesthetics. For him, curves and straight lines, sensuality and strictness interact in confrontations that are conducive to create meaning and awaken our senses. Through his desire to breath life into both the objects and spaces he designs, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance views each project as an organic form that will grow over time with its user, almost like a natural element that can Challenge human order or disorder.
Originally, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance was a sculptor, preoccupied with each work he created by a story and intimate link with nature that he felt the need to retranscribe by using his hands. But soon the IDEA of stirring emotions in others by creating useful forms became an evident path for someone who loves the beautiful as much as the functional and harmony as much as social responsibility. So he turned to design.
Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance often compares his approach to tsubo niwa, the tiny garden at the centre of a traditional Japanese house. Like an organic pulse in a profession dedicated to meeting the demands of an industry, a market or a specific client, he is as ready to design objects with inspired lines for manufacturers (Bernhardt Design, Ceccotti Collezioni, Cinna, Ligne Roset, La Chance, Petite Friture, Tacchini, Zanotta.) as he is to imagine harmonious living areas (Senderens, Air France Lounges, Ciel de Paris, Meurice Oenotheque, Transumance Chalet, #Cloud Paris lounge) or even to define a product image or showcase for a famous brand (Paco Rabanne, YSL Beauty, Perrier-Jouët,).
Thus in 2015 Montblanc associated its name with Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, entrusting him with the architectural plans of the company’s 500 boutiques worldwide.
His unique approach has led him to conceive exceptional objects that have been presented in the Pierre bergere gallery in Brussels and the BSL gallery in Paris. He has participated in prestigious events like the AD Interiors exhibition at Paris’ Musée des Arts Decoratifs in 2013 and more recently, the AD collections exhibition, also in Paris.
His creative meanderings have led him to initiate a collaboration with the Neal Feay workshop in the United States and also to work with two royal factories in France: Mobilier National (National Furniture) and the Manufacture de Sevres (ceramics). The latter two endeavors combine his contemporary vision of design with the finely-honed skills of master craftsmen that were used in the 18th century.
His approach has been acclaimed by the French and international press and he has received many prizes including NeoCon Silver 2016 for his Modern Family collection for Bernhardt Design, the 2015 Via Label, the 2014 Janus business prize for the Air France Salons, the GQ Best Designer prize in 2012, the prestigious Red Dot prize for Best Product in 2011 and both the Elle Decoration International Design Prize and Wallpaper Design Award in 2009.
With his innate fondness for Art Nouveau, he relies not only on the universal character of nature to impose shapes that make sense but believes that the IDEA of a total, multidisciplinary art is vital for contemporary creation.

Roger Capron - End Table, Garrigue + Brown Ceramic Tiles, Dovetail Metal Frame
By Roger Capron
Located in Stratford, CT
*** Important detail: custom height available (1)***
Square end table with the famous Roger Capron Garrigue tiles, designed from 1968 to 1982. Mr. Capron was often balancing his designs by incorporating either brown or white enameled terra cotta tiles. The handcrafted Garrigue tiles are produced by a technique in which real leaves were pressed into the clay and, during firing, disintegrated, leaving a finely detailed imprint.
The leaves come from "La Garrigue", a variety of vegetation indigenous to southeastern France only, where Roger Capron lived and worked for 60 years. These Garrigue tiles inspired a large series of side to dining tables, including wall covering. Many kitchen in the French Riviera have their walls covered with Garrigue tiles.
This table is mounted on a really sturdy dovetail metal frame. It is in near perfect condition, patina due to age on metal frame.
(1) Mr Capron was extremely influenced by the Japanese life style; coffee table are usually low. We can change the legs to match your desired height. Please keep in mind that we provide this service only for the tables that have a dovetail frame and for which the frames have a similar look with the replacement legs...

Roger Capron - Stunning Ceramic Coffee Table with Lava Tiles, Metal Frame, 1970s
By Roger Capron
Located in Stratford, CT
Looking for a spectacular ceramic coffee table! Look no further.
Ceramic top with pleasing modulations and contrasts between colors (Off-white, gray, amber and gold), textures (smooth, rough), linings (texture lines, designed lines and grout lines), geometric patterns (within and between tiles) and tile sizes. The very best in ceramic coffee tables Roger Capron had to offer.

- Free forms decorative items with handglazed decors and drawings (from 1948)
- Navet tiles hand glazed on industrial tiles from Villeroy and Boch (From 1950 to 1958)
- Planet tiles hand glazed on industrial tiles from Villeroy and Boch (From 1959 to 1975)
- Hand shaped ceramics (mostly humidors and lamps) covering the 19070's
- Indoors and outdoors wall panels covering buildings and lobbies. Most famous ones are 5 stars Hotel Byblos in Saint Tropez (with Jean Derval), Gare maritime de Cannes,
