A Petite Italian Antique Console w/Quartzite Top, Carved Apron & Fluted Legs
About the Item
An Italian small-sized carved and gilt wood table with stone top from the early to mid 20th century. This antique table from Italy has been fitted with a new quartzite "Taj Mahal" top, rectangular-shaped with cove edging, which rests above the apron which has been nicely-carved in a repeating and entwined circular design about the front and sides, with carved flower-head medallions adorning each of the corners, just above the legs. This piece is presented upon four squared and flute-carved legs which gently taper towards their feet. The table retains much of its original paint, which is primarily off-white and gold, with lots of patina and character throughout. This early 20th century French carved and painted wood console table, with its smaller footprint of less than 2 feet in width and just over 1 foot in depth, offers endless functionality throughout the home.
