Rare early Ercol mid century extendable dining table 50's
About the Item
This a very rare, early mid-century dining table designed by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol. The table has plenty of attractive details and is incredibly well crafted. The dining table looks square when closed with a gorgeous cross under the tabletop. There are handsome dovetail details in the top corners of the angled, rounded rectangular legs. The tabletop has an eye-catching stripy veneer finish. The table extends substantially by leaves with beautiful rounded corners, that pull out from underneath on both sides.
There is a black Ercol label at the bottom of the table, which indicates that it was designed and made before 1955.
The table measures 84cm by 91cm closed and extends to 84cm by 151cm by two leaves each measuring 30cm each. Table height 75cm.
Fantastic original condition. There is a surface mark on one side of the tabletop where the extension pulls out, please see the last image.
