Set of 3 Divergente Tables by Andres Monnier

About the Item

Set of 3 Divergente tables by Andres Monnier One of a Kind. Dimensions: W 100 x D 160 x H 70 cm / W 90 x D 80 x H 70 cm Materials: black marble. 1 x Divergente Dos table 2 x Divergente Uno table A divergent boundary occurs when two tectonic plates move away from each other. Along these boundaries, earthquakes are common and magma rises from the Earth's mantle to the surface, solidifying to create new oceanic crust. This piece is made with one whole black marble plate divided in two and some marble crusts in the bottom. A void is emerging to the surface, one plate is splitted and now is composed from two pieces. If cracks keep appearing, how many fragments compose its whole plate? its whole self? Cracks are needed to let light inside. Designer's biography Treko concrete is a Mexican studio based in Ensenada, that has as a purpose to create functional handcrafted furniture and sculptural pieces to tell stories with art and design. With the direction of Andres Monnier, Treko concrete now creates handmade fire pits, art objects, and functional furniture with natural stone, mirror, concrete, wood, and metal. Treko works with different techniques and languages of creation to innovate new purposes in conventional furniture.
