Tilt- top Breakfast table; William IV, England, c. 1835.

About the Item

Tilt- top Breakfast table made in Oak, mahogany, root veneer and brass. Presents faults in the board. Aesthetically the work follows the models of period furniture and William IV style, spanning from 1830 to 1837. William IV furniture exhibited decorative characteristics similar to Regency design but slightly more decoration. Carvings such as animal claw feet and beautifully carved woods such as rosewood and mahogany were used. This is a period that is defined by quality and personality, representing a very specific and short moment in the history of a country.
