Victorian brass and marble pedestal jardinière side table, late 19th c

About the Item

A stunning Victorian jardinière occasional table / pedestal crafted of a metal base - brass - with a black marble top inlay. Circa fin de siècle late 1800s, or perhaps début de siècle, this piece marries elements of belle époque with art nouveau, the movement of which was just beginning to emerge at the dawn of the 20th century. Incredibly ornate details line the edges of the piece, with Cupids along the outrageously curvaceous « squiggle » legs of the table, and leaf flourishes near the feet. To accommodate a bit of wobble, I have added a furniture pad below one foot, whose leaf also shows losses upon close inspection; otherwise this piece is in great condition. The marble inlay can be removed for storage and transport. Pick up in central west Los Angeles or we ship worldwide; please don’t hesitate to reach out for alternative shipping quotes!
