An English George II period mahogany tripod table from the mid-18th century, with pie-crust tilt-top, turned baluster stem and carved cabriole legs. Tripod tables were often used as tea tables, the tilt-tops allowing them to be folded and stored away easily. Our table is raised on a lovely baluster stem, adorned with a spirally turned motif. Creating a perfect conclusion to this elegant ensemble, the table rests on three Rococo cabriole legs, accented with acanthus leaves surrounding a central medallion on the knees, and ending in ball-and-claw feet. With its graceful lines and lovely mahogany patina, this English George II tripod table...
