19th century Walnut Adjustable Reading Table, 1890s

About the Item

Very beautiful walnut lectern table dating from the end of the 19th century. The patented system allows the writing surface to be moved from left to right or vice versa, to raise or lower it. A cast iron system allows the surface to be tilted horizontally and vertically (latches allow small flaps to be raised to block a document). This somewhat exceptional piece of furniture allows you to read or write sitting, standing or lying down. Tilted, it can be used as a lectern, a music stand or a restaurant menu stand. Beautiful quality.
