About the Item

Lorenzo Burchiellaro cubic bar cart in Metal and Glass Italy 1970s. Cubic-shaped bar cart with wheels with a frame realized in metal which presents a circular void on each side, and the cart's top and bottom have realized in glass. The cart was designed by Lorenzo Burchiellaro, a living Italian designer born in Venice in 1933. Burchiellaro's works are mainly in metal: bronze, pewter, zinc, aluminium, gold and silver, but especially copper. The colours are the result of natural processes started with the application of acids, oxidation and fire, which contribute to giving his works a chromatic never equal to itself; chromaticism is the result - often unpredictable of a particular dosage of acid and fire and the weather conditions at the time. Another constant search for Lorenzo Burchiellaro was prioritizing the vacuum rather than the full. In this way, the space surrounding the object becomes that thing "happens", from which we learn to see form in another way. All this happens through continuous experimentation, thanks to a complete mastery of techniques and materials.
