X-Base Mosaic Top Side Table by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, 1954

About the Item

Inspired by tables of Ancient Greece this Edward Wormley design is a classic. It is comprised of Murano glass tile, set in a brass frame top, which is removable. It rests on a folding "X" form base of ten solid rosewood slats jointed at their center point and held in unison by shaped, solid, rosewood members perpendicular to its slats. Originally produced by Dunbar from the mid-to-late 1950's.
