Art Deco Widdicomb Chicago Worlds Fair Illuminated Vanity

About the Item

A very well crafted and thought out designed vanity from the Art Deco period a tall illuminated mirror with side switch and swing out pedestals on chromed rods and the original stool . To each side of the mirror there is a pedestal one open and to the other a pivoting top with a storage bin the top making a small table . Two smaller drawers and a lower larger door having aluminum and Bakelite pulls . The piece has burl wood , walnut and maple wood mixed on to different surfaces to create a high end rich feel of luxury . Manufactured by the Ralph H. Widdicomb furniture company and one like this rare example was featured in the 1933 Chicago World's Fair Century of Progress , showcased in the Florida Room in the main furniture exhibit area . The piece is referenced in the book American Art Deco Furniture 2014 by Rick Emmett renowned authority of Art Deco furniture on page 387 . The measurement of the stool is 20" dia. and 14.25" H , the mirror is 60" H x 36" L to each ends , when pedestals are open it starts at 30"D and fully opened the depth is 56" D . The storage pedestals are 21" L x 10" D x 21" H . This item will come disassembled in three pieces including pictures and instructions for assembly for better shipping .
