Donald Deskey Art Deco Vanity + Stool & Mirror in Highly Figured Avodire 1940s

About the Item

Extraordinary vanity table with mirror and stool crafted from highly figured ribbon Avodire wood. Created by the Holland Furniture Company in the 1940s. Donald Deskey at this time was designing for the Baker furniture company which had just relocated their factory to Holland Michigan as well as the Widdicomb Company which was located only 30 minutes away in Grand Rapids. This set was acquired from the original owners and is absolutely amazing. The simple design effortlessly bridges the gap between Art Deco and Postwar Modernism. We also have a matching pair of Tall Dressers and a nightstand from this series available as well.
