This exceptional French 19th century Empire mahogany dressing table is complete with its original mercury glass mirror and white Carrara marble top. The oval mirror is framed with beautiful brass trim and supported by mahogany carved arms in the shape of graceful swans. The surface of the table is white Carrera marble that is in superb antique condition. The apron houses a single lockable drawer with a brilliant brass ornate escutcheon. Like the mirror supports, the front legs are flame mahogany arched legs capped with ornate ormolu, the quintessence of Empire style. This early 19th century French Empire period ormolu-mounted dressing table in neoclassical style, with its delicate details and beautiful material, is a most refined acquisition for any classical interior. #5295.
