About the Item
2008 multi-meida media oil pastel concentric abstraction by Veronica Benning. Geometric forms radiate from the upper center midpoint, creating a structured yet meditative composition. Hand-signed and dated by the artist. Presented matted in a decorative filigree frame. Contemporary, post-modern style. The piece is in excellent condition.
Veronica Ann Benning (1947-2013), based in Fort Myers, FL, was known for her pastel drawings mixed media paintings. She earned a BFA from Washington University and an MFA from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Benning taught painting at the Portland School of Art (now Maine College of Art) and the University of Southern Maine. After moving to Florida in 1993, she continued to paint regularly. Her work reflected her connection to the Maine landscape and her lifelong exploration of visual perception.
