Jean Pierre Vitrac “Imbroglio” Calendar for Piranha France 1970s

About the Item

This rare “Imbroglio” perpetual wall calendar was designed in the 1970s by Jean Pierre Vitrac and produced by Piranha in France. A standout example of French modernist design, the calendar features a white perforated metal front with bold, stylized numbers from 1 to 31 arranged in a clean grid. A small black magnetic disc is used to manually indicate the current day, transforming a utilitarian function into a playful and sculptural daily gesture. The back is made of black plastic and is embossed with “Piranha – design Vitrac S.A. – Made in France.” Both conceptually rich and aesthetically minimal, this piece merges graphic design, conceptual art, and functionality in a single form. An iconic representation of 1970s visual experimentation, it is ideal for collectors, creative studios, and lovers of vintage typographic design.
