Original Botanical Oil Painting by Tarn McLean.
The orchid flower is delicate, exotic and graceful. This painting reflects a neutral colour pallet that is calm and peaceful with a reductive composition that is bilaterally balanced.
Painted in oil on linen, the artwork is framed in a simple silver facing floating frame, ready to hang.
Tarn’s artwork is grounded in colour observation inspired by architecture, fashion, nature and botanical paintings created by her Great, great grandfather Adam Forster which are now held in the Australian National Library. Her botanical paintings are fine art ‘studies’ that create inspiration for Ocre Designs fabrics and wallpapers.

Ocre Designs
Ocre Designs
Starting out as an accessories label in 2008, founder and artist Tarn McLean designed wearable art for Ocre's first collection of limited-edition handbags. Each bag was lined with hand painted fabric and within a few years the fabric was turned into textiles for home furnishings and interiors. All Ocre handbags are inspired by colours from the earth and Australian outback, reflecting an artisanal aesthetic.
With over 50 fabric designs, the house of Ocre has morphed into an accessories and homewares label, with the botanical designs inspired by Tarn's great grandfather Adam Forster, whose paintings are now held in the Australian National Library. All Ocre fabrics and wallpapers are made sustainably to order in Australia. They’re suitable for residential and commercial interiors and available for retail and trade.
Ocre now offers a one-on-one art and design service, working with architects, interior designers and clients to custom design their stories into beautiful art, fabric and hand painted wallpapers.
