In my work there are several constants. The first and best known of them has been Faces. Throughout my already long career, the representation of the Human head, a little androgynous for sure
Always value the human being as an individual being who belongs to a group, but always try to avoid any adornment or any definition of status or order. It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, young or old, poor or rich.
The head is simply the representation of the internal Self.
Over the centuries and the evolution of artistic representation, it is very easy to distinguish the status of the character, by their clothing, their age, etc. For more than 30 years now, I have often represented my “Face” devoid of any sign as a being with its own life, but an internal life. Be individual within the group. Being that is often manipulated and dragged by the majority, but that being sometimes reveals itself and swims against the current. I care about the depth of human thought, of the good human who follows the chosen path that is not always easy. That is my other symbolism, that continuous or discontinuous line through which we circulate.
That line was turning into pixels, like the screens with interferences, which drive us so much.
These two symbols or marks of my work can be seen present in this work.
On a bridge as frequented as the one in Brooklyn, a traffic light (in this case it was temporary, due to construction) gives us entry or takes it away. .. but also the exit. Not everything is inside... there is a lot of world
