This ornate Italian wall plaque was crafted circa 1780 from hand-worked iron and finished in rich gilt, showcasing intricate openwork scrolls and foliate motifs in high relief. Likely part of a larger decorative ensemble or architectural element, the plaque features a symmetrical arrangement of acanthus leaves, curling tendrils, and stylized floral clusters. Traces of red bole beneath the gilding and areas of darkened patina lend depth and authenticity to the timeworn finish.
