Antique 1880s Brass & Porcelain Plates, Set of 3 Hand Painted Portraits, Germany

About the Item

A set of three beautifully executed porcelain plates from around 1880-1890. Attributed to KPM Kaulbach, Dresden, Germany. German craftsmanship and artistic skill, both in the beautifully detailed hand painted womens portraits and wide brass hammered rims. The womens attire display the fashion of the time, the one to the left in red with a wealthy country style hunting style hat, the middle one more in a style going for tea in town, the third one displays a classic country girl, possibly in her wedding attire. The brass (or Tupak, which contains more copper and is softer than brass) rims feature classic 19th century or Baroque style shields and fire spitting wolves or dogs.
