About the Item
A large, expertly carved antique award plaque with striking original paint in a beautifully faded shade of red. This historical object has a truly interesting story. The size of the sign means that this was a very significant award given to an important individual, probably in government. It was awarded in the mid 19th Century by an Imperial Court in Shanxi Province for meritorious service.
