The Chrysanthemum Quilt by Tra-la-la Quilts, Intricate Patchwork, Japanese Style
About the Item
This exquisite handmade quilt, The Chrysanthemum Quilt, is a stunning work of art, blending meticulous craftsmanship with a vibrant design. Inspired by master Japanese quilter Hiroe Mogi’s Hana-bi (Fireworks), it showcases a radiant interplay of golden yellows and deep navy blues, reminiscent of blooming chrysanthemums or bursts of fireworks. The quilt is composed of 1,584 individually hand-cut pieces of cloth, arranged in an intricate pattern, creating a dynamic and visually striking composition.
Measuring 132 cm x 99 cm (52” x 39”), the quilt is layered with premium wool batting. The intricate hand-stitched big-stitch detailing enhances its texture and highlights the craftsmanship behind every element.
Originally designed as a wall hanging, it includes a removable quilt sleeve on the back for easy display. However, its versatile size also makes it an eye-catching statement piece for a bed or sofa, bringing warmth and character to any space.
Whether hung on the wall, layered on a couch, or displayed on a bed, The Chrysanthemum Quilt combines the precision of traditional quilting techniques with a modern artistic flair, making it as functional as it is beautiful.
Care Instructions:
Dry cleaning is recommended, but the quilt can also be gently machine washed on a cold wool cycle with mild washing liquid and two or three Colour Catchers. Lay flat to dry to preserve its shape and vibrancy.
A masterpiece of design and craftsmanship, this quilt celebrates the art of quilting while offering a versatile piece that enhances any room with its bold, sophisticated charm.
