Greg Noll Rare Multi Logo Surfboard, 1960s
About the Item
The fin is a chopstick type with Greg Noll laminates glassed in. There is a redwood stringer (for strength) through the center of the board and a wooden tailblock.
A bit about Greg Noll: Greg Noll earned the nickname "DA Bull" because of his size and his way of charging down the face of big waves. He was the first to ride the outside reef at Pipeline, Hawaii. During the 1969 season he rode Makaha on what was generally accepted to be the largest wave ever to be ridden (up to that time). He has been shaping surfboards since his youth and is still shaping re-creations of ancient surfboards.
His first surf shop was in Hermosa Beach California and it is no exaggeration to say that he is one of the most influential surfers of all time and that his surfboards are amongst the most collectible.
Cabernet body, clear foam center and redwood center stringer, and all those Greg Noll logos.
