Italian 18th Century Giltwood And Fresco Wall Decor/Panel

About the Item

An extremely decorative Italian 18th century Giltwood and Fresco wall decor/panel. This highly detailed piece of wall decor is set within a Giltwood frame with a handsome Greek key design. The panel is surrounded by a decorative foliate band with wonderful rosettes and acanthus leaves. At the bottom center is a stunning seashell below a plinth and flanked by large 'C' scrolled foliate designs which end with mythological dolphins. To each side are decorative columns showcasing wonderful acanthus leaf designs, swaging rose colored garlands, and beaded emerald jewelry around the neck of the nymphs above. Centrally placed above the base pedestal is an urn with scrolled parrot designs and a three legged acanthus leaf support. On either side of the urn are vertical bars with berried foliate vines leading upwards toward a pair of scrolling bars with laurel accents, flowing blue ribbons, hanging ripe pears, and a canopy shaped tent.
