Japanese antique basket woven with grape vines/1868-1920/Vase on the wall/mingei

About the Item

This is an old Japanese basket made from the Meiji period to the Taisho period (1868-1920). The material is made of wild grape vines, and it is thought that originally it was tied with a string so that it could be carried on the back. It is a basket that farmers use when they go to pick wild vegetables. It's a rustic cage. It was made in the Tohoku region of Japan. Because it is a cold region, it is blackened by being smoked by the hearth. Very good looking. The vine is partially cut and the mouth part is reinforced with wire, but there are no major defects. It was an important tool that the common people could not live without. Many of them have been thrown away in modern times, and there are few existing ones, making them very rare items. And this one is in relatively good condition. It was probably stored carefully. Hang it on the wall and use it as an object or vase. Also, if you want to use it as a vase, fill the bamboo tube with water and insert the flowers. We believe that it is our mission to convey the charm of such old things and leave them behind. Also, I want many people to know the goodness of antiques, so I set the price reasonably. Highly recommended item. Weight: 0.75kg "Note" The artificial flowers shown in the photo are not included. If you want something special, we encourage you to purchase our selected items. We mainly sell carefully selected old Japanese items. I've seen tens of thousands of items so far. Based on that experience, only selected items are posted here. We are able to do this because of our long experience.
