Japanese Antique Paper Art / Wall Decoration / Wabi-Sabi Mingei

About the Item

This is a wall decoration made of old Japanese paintings. It seems to be from the Meiji period to the early Showa period. The old paper on the surface is dyed with persimmon juice and is done randomly multiple times. Old-fashioned letters are written on it, and it looks like a pattern. These are arranged in a balanced way and expressed like an abstract painting. The frame is made of wood and painted with black lacquer. When hanging on the wall sideways, the metal fittings are attached. If you want to hang it vertically on the wall, please attach the metal fittings separately and use it. I would appreciate it if you could decorate the beauty that has changed over time on the wall and enjoy it as an accent of the interior. Weight: 1.2kg
